Plausible is the anti-Google Analytics. Where GA4 overwhelms with complexity, Plausible strips analytics down to what actually matters.
The appeal of simplicity
The dashboard fits on one screen. No learning curve, no training required. You see visitors, sources, top pages, and locations at a glance. That's it—and for most sites, that's enough.
No cookies means no consent banners. GDPR compliance out of the box. Your visitors get a cleaner experience and you get accurate data without the legal headaches.
What you give up
Advanced segmentation, custom events (beyond basics), and detailed user flows aren't Plausible's strength. If you need to track complex funnels or e-commerce conversions, you'll hit limits quickly.
No free tier means you're paying from day one. At $9/month for 10K pageviews, it's affordable but not free like GA4.
The bottom line
For marketing sites, blogs, and businesses that want clean, privacy-respecting analytics without the GA4 complexity, Plausible is excellent. It's what I recommend to most of my manufacturing clients.
